Given the prompt Interrupted I created a graphic story for the RCA London’s Graphic Novel Storytelling Short Course. My response to the prompt is an attempt to depict the restless nights I was experiencing at the time, while living in Berlin. As is often the case in my work, I try to bring some element of the fantastical to the story. Beyond that I leave it to the viewer to take from the story what they will.

Limitations of the brief were to work in a square format, and I additionally chose to work in monochrome, using a chestnut Caran d’Ache watercolour pencil. It was an intentional decision not to include any text in the story, preferring to leave the piece open to interpretation.
